Club Rules
1.
A pony must be 14.2h and under.
2.
A horse must be 14.2h and over
3.
The rider of a horse/pony of 14.2h should elect at the start of the season
whether they wish to compete in horse or pony classes. An animal which changes
owners partway through the season can have its status changed by its new owner.
Any championship points gained by the original owner will be forfeited.
4.
NOVICE RIDER: The rider must not have won a show jumping points trophy
at any riding club level. The novice classes are intended to give novice riders
competitive experience. Two consecutive seasons is the maximum a rider may
enter this class.
5.
NOVICE HORSE AND PONY CHAMPIONSHIPS: The equines entered in these
classes must not have won a points trophy at any riding club. The novice
championships are awarded on the usual points system.
6.
JUNIOR RIDERS: A junior is a member 16 yrs and under on the 1st January
2009. A junior rider may compete is both horse and pony classes on mounts that
comply with the classes requirements. The same mount cannot be used in both
horse and pony classes. Junior riders will be awarded championship points in
both pony and horse classes as appropriate.
7.
MEMBERSHIP CARDS & COMPLETED ENTRY FORMS must be presented when
making entries.
8.
Hard hats, complying with the latest safety standards, properly secured must be
worn by ALL MOUNTED RIDERS AND ALL YOUNG HANDLERS AGE 16 YEARS AND UNDER.
9.
NO BODY JEWELERY to be worn when competing.
10.
The Judges’ decision is final in every case. Competitors are expected to comply
with the judges requests in showing classes.
11.
Competitors are responsible for reporting when their class is called. The
committee cannot be held responsible for the clashing of classes or the timing
of individual events.
12.
The committee reserve the right to refuse entries and to amend the schedule
without prior notice.
13.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP is available to parents and their siblings only and
should include at least one Junior member.
14.
Priory Riding Club, its committee, or persons acting on their behalf shall not
be held responsible for any accident, loss or injury to any person or their
property however caused.
15.
Any objection must be handed to the Complaints Secretary, the Club Secretary or
any other official of the Club acting on their behalf with a deposit of £10
within 30 min. of the end of the relevant class. If the objection is not
sustained the deposit will be forfeited
16.
Day members of P.F.R.C. are not awarded championship points.
17.
Only authorized persons are allowed in the arena.
18.
Whilst BSJA and BHS rules may be used as a general rule in competition any
specific rule of P.F.R.C. shall take precedence in resolving any dispute or
objection.
19.
A horse/pony under 4 years will not be permitted to enter a ridden class.
20.
Any person misusing their mount or riding or acting in a dangerous manner will
be asked to leave the show ground and may, in addition, be barred from entry in
further competitions organized by P.F.R.C. The offending rider will be advised
in writing of the committee’s decision. Any person, who behaves in a manner
which in the opinion of the committee is offensive or likely to bring the
standing of the club into disrepute, will be treated in the manner described
above.
21.
Any horse or pony considered by the club’s committee to be unsound or in poor
condition will not be allowed to compete.
22.
Championship points are awarded to full members only from the date of their
joining the club in any season. Points are awarded to the same
rider/handler, horse/pony combination.
23.
Competitors who enter classes from which they are excluded by the rules and
conditions governing the class must declare themselves as ‘non competitive’ on
entry.
24.
No refund of entry fees for whatever reason will be made but an alternative
class if one is available would be offered.
25.
If, in the opinion of the Judge or Club official a competitor is considered
over qualified for a particular class in which he has entered he will be asked
to leave the ring and his entry fee will not be refunded.
26.
Handlers in all Lead Rein classes must be aged 16 years or over.
27.
Lead reins must be attached to the nose band of the pony. Lead Rein competitors
may not enter any other class riding free.
28.
By entering any class competitors are deemed to have accepted and understood
the rules.
29.
The championship trophies will be presented at a social evening following the
final event of the season. It is expected that recipients of trophies attend to
collect their award in person. Anyone unable to do so should advise the
secretary before the presentation evening.
30.
DOGS MUST be kept on the lead at all times whether on the show ground or
vehicle parking areas. Owners are requested to pick up and take away from the
site any faeces dropped by their dog.
31.
NO HORSES OR PONIES allowed in the designated pedestrian area
32.
ALL STALLIONS & COLTS must be tagged and bitted.
Handler/rider to be 16 years or over.
33.
P.F.R.C adopt the ‘zero tolerance’ policy as used by and enforced by
Midarc and will use this as appropriate at all shows
34. P.F.R.C will not tolerate any member or their associates using social networking sites to abuse the riding club or it's commitee and helpers/judges in any way and such incidents will be treated under the 'zero tolerance' policy and members may risk having their membership rescinded. Any incidents will also be reported to Midarc and it's associate riding clubs.
35. P.F.R.C reserve the right to refuse any entry to any class by any competitor without reason
WORKING HUNTER CLASS RULES
Body
protectors, brushing boots and bandages are permitted for jumping elements of
these classes but MUST be removed before showing element.
No other change
of tack is permitted
NO CHANGE OF RIDER IS PERMITTED BETWEEN
ELEMENTS
A fall means
elimination and any rider who falls must leave the ring unmounted

MUCKING OUT OF VEHICLES IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN ON THE SITE

FARM RIDING CLUB ARE INDEBTED TO A.MYATT FOR ALLOWING US TO USE THE LAND FOR
OUR SHOWS.
THE
CLUB OFFICIALS WOULD APPRECIATE COMPETITORS AND SUPPORTERS LEAVING THE SITE IN
A CLEAN STATE.
PLEASE
PLACE YOUR LITTER IN THE BAGS PROVIDED AROUND THE SITE OR TAKE IT HOME.
