Welcome to Priory Riding Club
We are a small friendly club who enjoy all things equestrian—there will be other events added to the schedule such as cross country and fun days and pleasure rides. See our website for further details and updates
We are affiliated with Midarc and some shows will be qualifiers for their championships—details on the website and new for this year qualifiers for Beaver Hall championships
Midarc National Championships will be held at Rodbaston College, Penkridge on the 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th August 2011

Rules on the riding and handling of stallions and colts -
Entries for Stallions and Colts for both In Hand and Ridden Classes will be
accepted,
When competing with Stallions, the owner / handler or rider must wear a orange
armband, and if available a stallion bridle disc.
Children under the age of 16 will not be allowed to ride Stallions in any class.
Seniors (over 16yrs) and Juniors (14yrs - 16yrs) may show Stallions in an In
Hand Class, and should also wear protective head gear. Juniors will be limited
to ponies 42” & under

Zero Tolerance to abuse—we are pleased to operate under the Midarc zero tolerance policy and will enforce this if necessary
Working Hunter Rules:
Bitless bridles are not allowed. But any other suitable bit is allowed as are Martingales and noseband, however, the judge may take into account the effectiveness of these aids
Body protectors may be worn in the jumping phase of any Working Hunter Competition, but may be removed for the showing phase.
Also, the boots on the horse should be removed after the jumping phase, and riders may also change from skull caps to any other Midarc approved headgear for the showing phase.
Scoring for all Working Hunter & Hunter Classes
Jumping Phase worth 50 Marks in Total with penalties as follows :-
Knockdown 10 penalties, 1st Refusal 15 penalties, 2nd Refusal 20 penalties
3rd Refusal or Fall Elimination
Style and Manners whilst Jumping 10 Marks
Showing Phase Manners 10 Marks
Conformation 30 Marks Total possible Marks 100
